This little trick can not only increase the yield of your potato plants, but puts to use those worn out tires.
Fill a tire with soil and plant two whole or halved seed potatoes about 2 inches below the surface. When the plant reaches about 6 to 10 inches, stack a second tire on top of the first and fill with soil, making sure to leave about 3 or 4 inches of the plant exposed.
When the plant once again reaches about 6 to 10 inches, repeat the process. Potatoes sprout from the underground stems and the taller the underground stems, the higher your yield will be.
